Destiny 2’s servers will remain down until February 22 at 9am PST. It could be “free expansion” which is good, or it could be…more. The Destiny 2 maintenance schedule starts today (February 21) at 6:45pm PST / 9:45pm EST, or Tuesday February 22, at 2:45am GMT. In any case, what was already going to be a big day for Destiny fans may now be potentially even bigger if some sort of Microsoft announce is in the work. I do think Bungie wants to remain independent for good this time, and they’re legitimately one of the largest independent publishers last standing after the Bethesda sale. This one I kind of doubt, but I mean with Microsoft these days, pretty much anything doesn’t seem out of the question. This would be mind-melting for a lot of players, most of whom are obvious fans of Bungie’s Halo games, and would also serve to be promotion for Halo Infinite over the course of the fall ahead of its it’s-not-delayed-again-we-swear unannounced holiday release date.įinally, getting into truly wildcard territory, while I don’t expect Microsoft to buy Bungie, I wouldn’t fully rule out something like Microsoft working with Bungie on a new IP, maybe exclusive, maybe not, who knows. Without getting into specifics, the idea is that Halo would cross into Destiny in some way, though I’m not sure about the other way around. I do not want to get into allegedly leaked info here, but this was mentioned in the body of a lengthy list of leaks that is so far, panning out pretty well. If we want to keep going, we may get confirmation that Bungie is planning a larger Destiny crossover with Halo.
